Golf de Biarritz
About the Course
Known as Le Phare it is the third oldest course in continental Europe. Originally designed by Tom Dunn and then some years later modified by Harry Colt.
Despite its location Le Phare is more a parkland course with tree-lined fairways. Thus the challenge is to stay out of the trees and enjoy the views of the sea at various points on the course.

Golf de Biarritz le Phare is located 2km north of Biarritz town centre. Make it part of your itinerary knowing it’s only a few hours from the centre of one of France’s finest cities, Bordeaux.
Golf de Biarritz Le Phare is considered a gentle course that is easy to walk around, however the club members say,
“It looks like being an easy course, which does not require any important physical efforts, but it’s really not. Its difficulty lies in his technicality and it is not that easy to « score ». 70 bunkers are there to remind us, if necessary is, that golf is, above all, a reflection and shrewdness affair.”
