Golf in Medoc, Bordeaux with Greens and Grapes

Real Golf de Pedreña is located in Northern Spain close to the town of Santander. The 18-hole course designed in 1929 by Harry S. Colt, is surrounded by pinewoods and has magnificent views of Santander Bay. A further 9 holes were added in 1991, designed by none other than Sevriano Ballesteros. It is here that he learned his trade and went on to become one of the all-time greats.

Key Features

Golf du Medoc

Golf de Pedreña sits up high overlooking the sea. Although the course is on the coast the layout is very much parkland with many tress around to make things interesting. It is very hilly, and as a result many of the fairways are uneven. The club has hosted the Spanish Open in the past and is definitely worth a visit. The views from many of the holes are simply spectacular.

Lucius’ tips:

The undulating fairways will help on the holes with a downhill approach but can cause trouble on dog-leg holes where the fairway falls away.
